Whenever i try to open up some of the items i get in a repack they open and immediately close(ad folder for example). Do i need to install the wow disk and get all the patches? Please help, this is my first time trying this. Thx

There are many reasons why it would do that. Unfortunately, this is not the good section and you will get more/better help in the "Support" section of the forums.
